Artist Biography

Born in Iran and raised in Isfahan until the age of 16, Tahmineh Javanbakht is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and cultural heritage. She is the co-founder of Artecnica, a Los Angeles–based design firm whose works are held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art (New York), Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Javanbakht has also taught experimental painting at her alma mater, the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California.
